Directing Internship
Immerse yourself in observing some of the finest directors in the country, while assistant directing 3-4 main stage shows, as well as 2 Humana festival shows. Get hands-on experience directing scenes, ten minute plays and monologue work with the Acting Apprentices, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and devised solo and ensemble projects. Meet regularly with the Associate Artistic Director and the Lit department to discuss scripts under consideration for the Humana Festival. Note that this is equal parts directing and observship, so the candidate needs to be far enough along in their development to know how to learn from watching and comparing different directing techniques. Past directors at Actors include: Anne Bogart, Michael John Garcés, Chay Yew and Peter Dubois.
